EAA’s Second Hudson River Clean-up Activity

In an effort to help revitalizing the Hudson River, Environment Action Association hosted its second Hudson River

Clean-up activity at Pier 66 Habitat Garden area of Hudson River Park on July 10, 2012.

In spite of the very hot weather, a group of more than 8 volunteers from brothers of Phi Sigma Chi fraternity at Adelphi University and Syracuse University took part in our activity.

After a brief introduction on different types of weeds by Hudson River Park Trust staff, all volunteers worked with a great enthusiasm and removed weeds so that their seeds are not reintroduced into the soil.

The three blocks of this beautiful waterside garden is not open to the public; is designed to attract birds and butterflies.

We are pleased to be a part of protecting, revitalizing the Hudson River.
